Obituary for Michael "Mike" Kacal

Michael Louis Kacal, 70, of El Campo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 27, 2022. Michael was well known as “Mike”, “Big Mike”, and “Uncle Mike”.
Mike was born on May 26, 1951 to the late Willie J. (Bill) and Mary Kacal in El Campo, Tx. He was a member of a large and wonderful family. He was an all-around good son and brother, and a loving and generous Uncle and Friend. He enjoyed playing softball and golf in his younger years and was always up for a game of dominos or poker. He was especially good at remembering birthdays and was known for making others feel special on their special days with his wit and cute roses are red, violets are blue birthday poems and messages – many looked forward to their birthday calls from him. He made friends wherever he went, he may have been a little rough around the edges at times, but he truly cared about people and didn’t just say it, but tried his best to show it. Mike encouraged others and expressed his appreciation for what people did for him, and always thought it wasn’t a bad idea to pay someone a compliment. He was a farmer and provided many a people with fresh field and sweet corn in the summers. He had a caring and compassionate heart and would often visit his elderly friends. Mike will be greatly missed by many.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Robert and Roland (Ronnie) Kacal.
He is survived by his brothers: Frank (Nancy) Kacal, David (Carol) Kacal, Danny Kacal, and sisters: Betty (Arthur) Leopold, Julie Kacal, Mary (Glen) Hairell, and Bonnie (Tommy) Guynes – and numerous loving nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews who lovingly and fondly called him, “Uncle Mike”.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 6, 2022 from 3 pm to 5 pm at Triska Funeral Home. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be held at 5 pm at the funeral home.
A parish rosary will be held at 10:30 am Monday March 7, 2022 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Hillje with funeral mass to follow at 11 am with Rev. Michael Rother officiating.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Joey Kacal, Matthew Hairell, Clint Kacal, Jayson Johnson, TJ Guynes, Jared Guynes, Tim Patek, Baron Northington, and Lowell Bacak.
