Dennis David Cervenka
May 24, 1951 — August 28, 2024
Dennis David Cervenka, 73, of Wharton, was called to be with the Lord on August 28, 2024. Born on May 24, 1951, Dennis was the son of the late August and Ella Cerny Cervenka.
A proud graduate of El Campo High School, Dennis spent his life as a dedicated farmer. He married Emilia Hermis Kolacny on October 16, 2021, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. Dennis was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, and taking his grandchildren to check the cattle. He was also known for his love of poker and his talent for cooking, which brought joy to many gatherings and celebrations.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Emilia Cervenka. He is also survived by his children, Michelle Sciba and her husband, Matthew of Hockley, Tx, as well as Brian Cervenka and his wife, Jessica of Austin, TX. His sisters, Diane Kalina and her husband, Larry, and Susan Cervenka, also cherish his memory. Additionally, Dennis is survived by his grandchildren: Kate Sciba, William Sciba, Hudson Cervenka, and Callum Cervenka.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. A private burial ceremony will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in El Campo. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Sciba, Clint Kalina, James Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald, Jess Fitzgerald, and John Rachunek
