Rita Jean Bartek Krpec, 65, of El Campo, passed away February 1, 2017. She was born on February 24, 1951 in El Campo to the late Ludvik J. Bartek Sr. and Julia Rucka Bartek. Rita was a cook for research vessels, owned and operated Kutac's for several years and was a caregiver.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Underbrink (Jason); son, Joey Krpec (Della Sympson); grandchildren, Hunter, Fisher and Tess Underbrink; sisters, Judy Venglar, Mary Kay Socha, Theresa Harton; brothers, Tommy Bartek, L.J. Bartek; companion, Chris Opel.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James D. Krpec Sr.; son, Jim Krpec and brothers, Joey and Rick Bartek.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday, February 3 at Triska Funeral Home with family receiving visitors from 5-7 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 4 at St. Philip Catholic Church immediately followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in New Taiton.

Pallbearers are Wade Venglar, Billy Venglar, Richie Bartek, Trey Harton, Kyle Harton and Trent Socha.
